The Body's Herbal Map: Connecting Herbal Knowledge with Body Systems

  • Online — Video Lessons + Live Zoom (map)

The human body is an intricate, interconnected whole—and herbs interact with that whole in fascinating ways.

The Body’s Herbal Map is a seven-week online exploration of the body’s major systems through the combined lenses of nursing and herbalism.

Drawing on my experience as a registered nurse, anatomy and physiology instructor, and herbalist, we’ll explore how the respiratory, digestive, circulatory, immune, nervous, and musculoskeletal systems function, how they connect with one another, and how herbs interact with and support these systems.

We’ll go beyond simply learning which herbs are associated with which body systems. We’ll explore how herbs work in the body—their actions, what body processes they may influence, and why particular herbs may be relevant to a particular system.

Along the way, I’ll share herbal remedies, recipes, and practical applications, helping you connect what you know about herbs with a deeper understanding of the human body.

This isn’t about memorizing anatomy and physiology or lists of herbs. It’s about creating a mental map of the body so you can begin to see the connections between body systems, herbal actions, and whole-person support.

You don’t need an extensive science or healthcare background—just curiosity and a desire to understand the human body and herbalism in a deeper way.
